先日，高校野球の特待生制度が大きな問題になりました。
「特待生」とはどのように表現されるのでしょうか？
☆特待生= scholarship， 特待生になる＝obtain a scholarship

となっています。
Daily Yomiuri(May. 4, 2007)では次のような記事がありました。
A total of 376 high schools have provided their baseball club memberswith preferential treatment, a deed banned by the Japan Student Baseball Association's charter, according to a final statement on the matter released Thursday.
今回の件では，高野連から表向き認められていない「特待生」なので，
"scholarship"とは言えず，あくまでも「優遇処置」ということ なのでしょう。
